The festive season is a distant memory and now it is time to get back to business with our regular blog. Making the mind focus again may take some practice!
This week we are we are proud to be Sound Partners for British Dance Edition, a biennial showcase of British Dance which has come to Scotland for the first time since its launch in 1998. We are supplying PA equipment for the performances at both Dance Base Edinburgh and The King’s Theatre Edinburgh.
The Event takes place from late afternoon on Thursday 30 January until late afternoon on Sunday 2 February 2014 and is primarily an industry event aimed at UK and international dance professionals. It provides delegates with a mix of performances, networking, trade fair and social events aimed at stimulating and supporting connections between artists, promoters and producers.
In a robust and thorough process underway since November 2012, the Team have distilled a list of nearly 200 proposals to a performance programme featuring the work of 44 artists and a Trade Fair featuring the work of a further 40 artists. One third of these artists are based in Scotland.
A civic reception was being held in the Assembly Rooms Edinburgh on Thursday evening with other events taking place in Edinburgh at Dance Base, the King’s Theatre and Traverse Theatre. Delegates will be taken to Glasgow for a day of activities on Saturday.
Whilst the Event takes place in Scotland, it remains a showcase of British work.
