The Edinburgh Jazz Festival starts this Friday and runs until 28th July at various venues across the city (and beyond). There is a varied and exiting line-up with old favourites including Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Band, Edith Budge, Fred Wesley and the New JBs and contemporary performers like Tia Fuller, Hidden Orchestra, Snarky Puppy and Cross the Tracks performing. Check out the programme on-line using the above link for the full line-up.
Here at DM Audio it’s full on for us until the end of the Festival with backline going into most of the venues, and also getting ready to set up the 3 stages for the Mardi Gras, which is to be held as usual in the Grassmarket on Saturday. There’s always a good buzz about the City at this time of year and the great weather is making it all the better.
For whiskey lovers I thought I would just mention that Glenfiddich, as part of the Festival, are holding free in-depth nosing and tasting sessions at the Festival Theatre on 24th and 25th July at 6pm so go along to sample a small nip or two.
